Around 55.9 percent of South Korean gamers considered themselves to be casual gamers according to a survey conducted in early 2021. Only 2.7 percent of respondents stated that they were aspiring professionals. The leading South Korean professional eSports players have earned several hundred U.S. dollars each by 2021, and there is a vibrant eSports community in the country.
