In 2023, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Chongqing city in China amounted to approximately 3.01 trillion yuan, compared to about 2.91 trillion yuan in the previous year. Chongqing is situated in the central part of China, next to Hubei province in the east and Sichuan province in the west. Urban districts make up only one part of the Chongqing municipality, which is quite large in size and includes also some rural areas.
