Gujarat has a variety of terrains from the Gir Forest - home to Asiatic lions, to the Rann of Kutch and the Saputara hills. It is known for being the birth-place of Mahatma Gandhi. In the fiscal year 2017, the domestic tourists arriving to the state accounted for approximately 45 million, while the foreign tourist arrivals accounted for almost one million.
