This statistic depicts the distribution of the value of imports of the iron and steel industry in Italy in 2014 and 2019, by macro-region. Data provided by Prometeia show that, in 2019, imports from Western Europe accounted for 42.6 percent of the total import value. This was a considerable decrease compared to 2014. By contrast, the imports from Asian countries increased from 17 percent in 2014 to 21.5 percent in 2019, ranking third among the considered macro-regions.
