Hong Kong's beauty, cosmetics, and skincare market is dominated by imported brands, however, a large share of foreign beauty products are re-exported from Hong Kong. In 2016, Hong Kong re-exported around 42 percent of all imported cosmetics, haircare, and skincare. Approximately one third of the re-exports, nearly 693 million U.S. dollars worth of beauty products, went to mainland China.
