Freedom of political expression in the online sphere in India seemed to be accompanied by high levels of concern about the possible negative consequences. When asked about the most concerning aspect of expressing political views online, a majority of respondents agreed that they think it might get them into trouble with the authorities. This seemed to be in line with recent events across the country where people had been arrested for posting "anti-national" material on social media.
