The Dominican Republic's beaches and sunny weather attracted the largest share of international tourists in the country in 2023. According to the survey, 51.5 percent of foreign visitors surveyed said that their main reason to visit the Latin American country was the quality of its beaches. Meanwhile, seven percent of respondents were looking forward to its nice Caribbean weather.
Main reasons for international visitors to have chosen the Dominican Republic as a destination in 2023
*Survey was carried out every two to three weeks throughout the year in the international airports Las Américas, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, La Romana, Cibao, and El Catey.
