Shenzhen was one of China's first Special Economic Zones and today, it is still one of the most economically active cities in China. Instead of growing at the same speed with the total investment in real estate since 2010, the value of land purchased in Shenzhen dropped in 2013. However, the land purchased in Shenzhen reached a new record in 2022 with a value of around 157 billion yuan.
