Modern communication profoundly influenced Russian society in 2019: 85 percent of respondents could not imagine their lives without social media, dating, translation, and video chatting. Modern banking, PayPass, and the ability to use online state services played a crucial role in the lives of 80 percent of Russians. Learning was essential for only 20 percent of the participants.
Modern society in Russia: what can you not imagine your life without?*
* The methodology of the study included expert interviews, a social media discussion, 2,000 online questionnaires by the respondents above 18 years old across Russia, and 100 questionnaires from the conference "Change the Mindset" ("Izmeni Soznanie").
