The most popular outdoor activity in Wales is walking. In 2019, approximately 85 percent of the respondents in the age group of 16 to 44 years and 59 percent of the age group of 65 and over in a nationally representative survey advised that they went walking as an outdoors activity at least once in the past 12 months. Second in popularity came picnicking and visiting children's playground or taking children to play outdoors.
