In 2019, western Europe accounted for 95.3 percent of the total value of wine imported into Italy. According to the data provided by Prometeia, this was a significant increase compared to 2014, when western Europe represented 78.7 percent of the total value of wine imports. Over the same period, the share of wine imported from NAFTA countries decreased sharply, from almost 14.7 percent in 2014 to 0.8 percent in 2019.
