The number of commercial real estate transactions in Italy decreased slightly as compared to previous year in 2023. In that year, over 158,000 transactions were completed. A glance at the graph reveals that the most dynamic market for commercial real estate was the North-West, followed by the North-East, and by Central Italy. The North-West accounted for approximately 50,600 transactions - about one-third of the activity in the sector.

It should be noted that in this Report the analyses do not contain data on stock and real estate transactions for the municipalities of the autonomous provinces of Trento (176 municipalities) and Bolzano (116 municipalities), Veneto (4 municipalities), Lombardy (2 municipalities) and Friuli Venezia Giulia (43 municipalities) where the system of land registers (or table system) for real estate advertising applies.
Non-residential real estate includes private and public offices, retail spaces and labs, credit institutions, commercial spaces and warehouses, hotels and other production/agricultural units.
