According to Bloomberg new energy finance, by 2040, renewables will make up 90 percent of the electricity generated in Europe, with wind and solar accounting for 80 percent. 2018 saw investments in the Middle East and Africa reach over 860 billion U.S. dollars. Germany, which has seen a lot of investment in the aim to phase out coal and nuclear in the pursuit of renewables saw over 540 billion euros of new energy capacity investment during 2018.
