To visit a doctor via video contact on a phone or another device is becoming more and more popular in Sweden. Over 20 percent of the population in Sweden had high or very high trust in digital health visits in 2019. A higher share of women (22.5 percent) had trust in it than men had (20.8 percent). In another survey, from 2018, seven percent stated to have used digital health visits, and would use it again, while 40 percent stated to not have used it and would also not try it.
AI in healthcare
The idea of digitalizing the healthcare goes deeper than just digital health visits and digital medical records. Several studies of bringing artificial intelligence into the field of healthcare is taking place. According to a survey from 2018, on Swedes opinion on use of artificial intelligence in healthcare, 36 percent stated to be very or rather positive to it. When it came to physicians’ opinions on the topic, the share of very or rather positive increased to 55 percent.
Connected health device
Connected health devices, such as insulin management devices, fitness trackers, fall detection services and so on, stated to be used by 12 percent of Swedish respondents in 2018. 12 percent stated to have used one, but do not use it anymore, and 69 percent stated to have never used one.
