The Russian seaport Novorossiysk, located in the Azov-Black Sea basin, handled over 147 million metric tons of cargo in 2022 and became the leading port in the country by cargo throughput. It was followed by the Ust-Luga port in the Baltic basin, which handled approximately 124 million metric tons of cargo. The third leading port was Vostochny located in the Far Eastern basin.
