The United States were, by far, the main country of destination of Mexican mezcal exports in 2019, accounting for 71 percent of total exports. Spain came in second, making up for around 5.8 percent of mezcal exports from Mexico. In 2019, Mexico had a total of 277 mezcal brands destined for the export market.
