In 2024, the airports in Thailand registered around 76.6 million international air passengers. In that same period, the total number of air passengers in the country reached over 124 million.

Thailand is one of the most important hubs for air transportation in Southeast Asia due to its geographical location and strong tourism industry. In the past years, the COVID-19 pandemic has heavily affected the aviation industry of the country. However, since Thailand fully reopened its borders to tourists in 2022, the tourism and aviation industries have been recovering, resulting in a significant increase in the number of international flights arriving in the country. In 2024, the number of international air passengers in Thailand surpassed five million.
Suvarnabhumi: Thailand’s busiest airport
Suvarnabhumi is Bangkok's main airport and the busiest airport in Thailand. In 2024, Suvarnabhumi Airport registered the highest number of international passengers among other airports in the country, amounting to more than 50 million passengers. Thai Airways, the national carrier of the country, held the highest number of international passengers arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport in 2024, with over nine million international passengers. Other leading airlines operating at Suvarnabhumi Airport are Emirates, Thai Air Asia X, and Thai Viet Jet.
