This statistic displays the results of a survey of opinions about what should be done with place names which reference the Dutch East India Company (known as the VOC in Dutch) in the Netherlands in 2019. The survey results suggest that as of 2019, public opinion in the Netherlands was largely opposed to changing the names of public places which reference the Dutch East India Company. Over 80 percent of respondents did not think that public place names which reference the company should be changed, while seven percent of respondents thought that place names should be changed in acknowledgment of the VOC's association with the colonial history, war and slavery.
