Discount stores and shops located near consumers' homes occupied 29 percent of the total revenue of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) in Russia in 2020, gradually increasing their market share over the observed period. To compare, in 2011, discounters accounted for less than one fifth of the FMCG market.
