The sales value of new robot installations in the global metal and machinery industry is projected to fluctuate between 2018 and 2021 before peaking at some 1.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2022. For most countries, the sales value will either stagnate or decrease between 2018 and 2022. In China and Japan, however, the demand for industrial robots in the metal and machinery industry is expected to increase and drive the growth of the sales value. In 2022, sales of industrial robots on the Chinese market are forecast to account for almost 60 percent of the global sales value.
