The electronics robotics market is the second-largest market for industrial robotics. In 2018, the sales value of new robot installations in this industry peaked at around 4.7 billion U.S. dollars. In 2019, the sales value dropped considerably to some 3.6 billion U.S. dollars and is projected to stagnate at least until 2022.
By 2022, almost 80 percent of the robots will be sold in Korea, Japan, and China. The markets in the United States and Germany cover only a small part of this industry since most electronic goods are produced in Asia due to lower production costs.
