The return on equity (ROE) is a measure of the profitability of a business in relation to the equity, also known as net assets or assets minus liabilities. ROE is a measure of a company’s ability to use equity to generate income.
The statistic shows estimated average return on equity in selected European countries in 2019 and the respective compound annual growth rate between 2015 and 2019. Polish companies show the highest return on equity. The return on equity of Italian companies was estimated to grow by 16.7 percent on average between 2015 and 2019 - the highest value in the sample.
