Key coffee exporters to Russia
As of 2021, Brazil was Russia’s main origin of coffee imports, as per nearly 200 million U.S. dollars. Vietnam and Italy were the second and the third leading exporters of the commodity to the country, respectively. Exports from Indonesia to Russia decreased notably in 2021, by 60 percent compared to the previous year in monetary terms. Consequently, the export value of coffee from Indonesia dropped by 40 percent compared to the previous year.
Coffee consumption in Russia
In 2024, the total average per capita consumption volume of coffee in Russia was estimated at approximately 0.8 kilograms. Six out of ten coffee consumers in Russia named cappuccino and americano as the most preferred coffee types ordered in cafes. The beverage was mainly purchased and consumed by individuals aged between 25 and 44 years, while those aged under 24 years formed the smallest group of coffee consumers.
