This statistic shows the distribution of consumer reasons that drive luxury goods purchases in the United Kingdom (UK) as of March 2019. According to a survey carried out by ProdegeMR, almost half of UK consumers purchased luxury goods because of special occasions. This was followed by consumers who believed luxury goods to be better quality products. Only 5 percent of respondents said they bought luxury items to keep up with friends or family members.
