Renewable energy capacity in Algeria 2011-2022
In 2022, the total renewable energy capacity in Algeria amounted to 599 megawatts (MW). The country was able to increase its capacity significantly compared to 2011, when it could produce a maximum of 253 MW. While investments in the renewable sector have been growing, they have not been enough to determine the energy transition. This is far to achieve since fossil fuels are still predominant in the country's energy mix.
