The source adds the following information: "Septembre 1970 : Étude de l’Ifop pour le Planning Familial réalisée par questionnaire auto-administré du 20 juin au 25 septembre 1970 auprès de 2 625 personnes âgées de 20 ans et plus, extrait d’un échantillon représentatif de 5 400 personnes âgées de 15 ans et plus résidant en France métropolitaine (hors Corse). Réponses sur la base des personnes mariées ou ayant été mariées. La question était alors formulée de la
manière suivante : « Depuis que vous êtes marié(e) ou lorsque vous étiez encore marié(e), vous est-il arrivé d’avoir des rapports sexuels complets avec une autre femme/homme que votre épouse/époux ? ».
Septembre 2001 : Étude de l’Ifop pour M6 réalisée par téléphone du 20 au 21 septembre 2001 auprès d’un échantillon de 953 personnes, représentatif de la population française âgée de 18 ans et plus. La question était alors formulée de la manière suivante : «Avez-vous déjà été infidèle ? »
Avril 2014 : Étude de l’Ifop pour Marianne réalisée par questionnaire auto-administré en ligne du 7 avril au 7 mai 2014 auprès d’un échantillon de 7 403 personnes, représentatif de la population française âgée de 18 ans et plus.
Avril 2016: Étude de l’Ifop pour Gleeden réalisée par questionnaire auto-administré en ligne du 14 au 17 mars 2016 auprès d’un échantillon de 2 003 personnes, représentatif de la population française âgée de 18 ans et plus
