Facebook adult content deletion per quarter 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, Facebook removed 30.5 million pieces of adult nudity and sexual activity-related content, this is a decrease of around five percent on the previous quarter, when 32.2 million pieces of such content were removed.

According to Facebook, "We restrict the display of adult nudity and sexual activity on Facebook and Instagram. We make some exceptions when it is clear the content is being shared in the context of a protest, for educational or medical reasons or a similar reason. On the other hand, we default to removing sexual imagery to prevent non-consensual or underage content from being shared. This report does not include metrics related to our separate policy on the promotion of sexual assault, violence or exploitation."

According to the source "As calculating prevalence depends on manual review, prevalence for adult nudity and sexual activity is unavailable for Q2 2020, due to a temporary reduction in our review capacity as a result of COVID-19."
