Czechia: BTI transformation index score 2008-2018

This timeline shows how scores of democracy, market economy, and governance performance in Czechia changed from 2008 to 2018, according to the Transformation Index of the Bertelsmann Stiftung (BTI). With 9.4 points for political transformation, the Czech Republic was assessed as a democratic state in the process of consolidation in 2018. The governance performance score increased to 7.03, which referred to very good transition management.

The BTI is a survey of political and economic transformation among 129 countries. To be selected, they have yet to achieve a fully consolidated democracy and market economy, have populations of more than two million (except six states chosen as particularly interesting cases) and are recognized as sovereign states.

7-10 points: very good,
5-6-6.99 points: good,
4.3-5.59 points: moderate,
3-4.29 points: weak,
0-2.99 points: failed.
