The data depicts a forecast of the average cost structure of companies in selected European economies in 2019. On average, French companies were expected to spend 16.7 percent of their turnover on staff costs. This is the highest value in the sample. An average German company spends only about 13 percent of its turnover on staff costs. However, it spends 71.4 percent of turnover on cost of goods sold which points to the fact that German companies tend to outsource more than, for instance, French companies.
