This statistic displays the distribution of startup founders in Belgium and the Netherlands in 2018, by gender. In 2018, the vast majority of startup founders in both Belgium and the Netherlands were male. However, approximately one fifth of startup founders in the Netherlands were female, whereas the share of women who founded startups in Belgium was significantly lower, at just under ten percent.
