As of November 2023, Ricky Ponting was the player with the most Cricket World Cup appearances. Ponting represented Australia on 46 occasions at the Cricket World Cup, during which time he scored 1,743 runs and was a core member of the squad that won three World Cups in a row between 1999 and 2007. In second place was India's legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar with 45 appearances. During the six World Cups in which he played, Tendulkar was even more prolific than Ponting at the crease, scoring 2,278 runs and becoming the all-time top run-scorer at the Cricket World Cup.
