Travel accommodation in Australia
The hotel industry in Australia experienced significant improvement in 2022 as the impact of the coronavirus pandemic lessened and the government eased travel restrictions. This newfound freedom for domestic and international travelers led to increased hotel demand. Thus, as a result of increased travel, the revenue in the hotel segment in Australia is projected to reach 6.75 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. The growth in the tourism industry is expected to drive the development of new accommodation offerings as well as innovation in existing ones, providing more diverse options for visitors to Australia. As of the first quarter of 2023, there were over 8,450 hotel rooms under construction and due to open in 2023 or 2024 across Australia.
