This statistic reveals the proportion of French women who have already had sex with another woman during their lifetime between 1970 and 2019. It shows that the share of French women who ever had a sexual intercourse with a woman has increased over the decades. They were about two percent in 1970, compared to nine percent in 2019.

1970 : Rapport Simon réalisé en face à face et par questionnaire auto-administré du 20 juin au 25 septembre 1970 auprès de 2.625 personnes âgées de 20 ans et plus.

1992 : Enquête ACSF pour l'ANRS réalisée par téléphone entre septembre 1991 et février 1992 auprès de 20.055 personnes âgées entre 18 et 69 ans en France métropolitaine.

2006 : Enquête CSF (« Contexte de la sexualité en France ») par l'ANRS-INED-INSERM réalisée par téléphone entre septembre 2005 et mars 2006 auprès de 12.364 personnes âgées entre 18 et 69 résidant en France métropolitaine.

2009 : Enquête TNS Sofres pour Le Nouvel Observateur réalisée en face-à-face les 8 et 9 avril 2009 auprès d’un échantillon national représentatif de 1 000 personnes âgées de 18 ans et plus.

2012 : Enquête Ifop réalisée par questionnaire auto-administré en ligne du 4 au 9 janvier 2012 auprès d’un échantillon de 2 005 personnes agées de 18 à 69 ans.
