After falling drastically due to the coronavirus pandemic, the value of full service hotel transactions in the United States picked up in 2021 and 2022. Despite the increase, at 21.4 billion U.S. dollars, the 2022 figure stood below the value of transactions prior to the pandemic. The sources adds that among the notable deals were trades of multi-property portfolios and large gaming properties, such as Brookfield's acquisition of Watermark Lodging Trust worth 2.8 billion U.S. dollars.
