This statistic depicts the results of a survey about purchase intentions of consumers in case of data breach under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Germany and in the United Kingdom in 2018. According to data, 86 percent of respondents declared that they would switch to another company in case a data breach occurred. The second largest group of consumers (69 percent) affirmed that they could also initiate a legal action against the firm which did not treat their personal data according to the GDPR.
