This statistic depicts the results of a survey conducted between December 2018 and January 2019 about the opinion on the impact of demonetization among first-time voters across India. About 29 percent of respondents stated that demonetization had a slightly positive impact on the country, whereas, 16 percent of respondents said it had a strong negative impact.

Note: In 2016, the Indian government decided to demonetize the 500 and 1000 Indian rupee bills and declared them as defunct. These two currency denominations were replaced with the newly introduced 2000 and 500 Indian rupee bills.
The Lok Sabha elections were scheduled between April to May 2019 and recorded about130 million first-time voters.
