This statistic shows the number of micro-businesses in France from 2011 to 2021. It displays that the number of micro-enterprises has been increasing since 2011, exceeding four million in 2021.
Note: Since 2008, another terminology has been used to describe these VSEs: the micro-enterprise. However, this economic concept differs from the tax regime of micro-enterprises. In other words, a small business is a micro-enterprise but does not necessarily fall within the scope of a micro-entrepreneur status (formerly called auto-entrepreneur).
