Definition Dependent variable
This variable changes depending on one or several independent variables. It is also called the endogenous variable, because it demonstrates a reaction to changes in the independent (exogenous) variable.
Example: During an experiment , the temperature in a room is changed. The people in the room state how comfortable they feel when exposed to different temperatures. The room temperature is the independent variable in this case. The dependent variable (the reacting variable) is the stated well-being of those surveyed.
