Around 93 percent of social network users in the United States recognize Instagram. Launched in 2010, the app is popular among 53 percent of social network users in the U.S.
Instagram has a brand usage score of 70 percent among Gen Z social network users, followed by 59 percent of Millennials who had used it in the past 4 weeks before our survey. Furthermore, almost half of the brand’s users consider a happy relationship as an important aspect in their lives.

U.S. consumers love to capture and share the world with Insta
Instagram is one of the most well-known social networks in the U.S. The media sharing platform has a brand awareness of 93 percent among social network users. It is popular among 53 percent of the respondents, and the same share had used Instagram in the past four weeks before our survey. Given that the U.S. is one of the largest Instagram markets worldwide, it’s no surprise that about 48 percent of social network users in the country plan to continue using the platform in the future.
Gen Z loves going to the ‘Gram
Our generational comparison of brand KPIs reveals that Instagram reaches an outstanding brand awareness of over 90 percent among social network users of all ages in the United States. Meanwhile, in other brand KPIs Insta performs better with the younger generations, namely Gen Z and Millennials. For example, 70 percent of U.S. Gen Z social media users use Instagram, and over 50 percent of Millennials are going to use it again in the future.
Insta users value a happy relationship
48 percent of Instagram users in the U.S. consider a happy relationship to be among the three most important aspects in life. Success comes in second on this list (44 %), followed by an honest and respectable life (42 %). However, for consumers who do not use Instagram, leading an honest and respectable life outranks all other life aspects on the list. Interestingly, both audiences place the same level of importance on having a good time (31 % each) in their lives.
