The top selling prestige makeup item in the U.S. is foundation, having generated 1.7 billion U.S. dollars in sales in 2018.

In 2018, Clinique, LancĂ´me, and Chanel were three of the most popular brands for luxury cosmetics among U.S. consumers who had bought luxury cosmetic products within the last three years; products from each of these brands were owned or used by more than one third of the respondents.
