In 2017, 33 percent of consumers surveyed in the USA bought clothes from wholesale stores on a regular basis, while 12 percent of the respondents did not buy any clothing from stores like Walmart during this period.
Walmart – a global brand
As of 2020, Walmart is one of the top 10 most valuable brands in the world. The retail chain recorded a brand value of US$77.52 billion that year which is more than the likes of Saudi Aramco, Bank of China and Mercedes Benz. It operates as discount stores, supercenters and neighborhood markets and as of 31st of January 2020, Walmart had a total of 4,756 stores across the U.S. It was the biggest retailer in the world in 2018 based on retail revenue with a total of US$514 billion.
