U.S. consumers' selection criteria for whisky 2017
Quality and taste are other important criterions for 49% of the consumers. It seems that whiskey enthusiasts are ready to spend a bit more in search of their favorite product as price only claims fourth spot on this list.
In the meantime, rather few are influenced by aesthetics as only one in every 10 of the respondents decide to go for a bottle of whiskey based on design. Same is the case with advertisements which can only sway a moderate share of consumers.
Top selling whiskey
Jack Daniel’s American is the top selling brand of whiskey in the United States with sales of over 317 US$318 million in 2019. The Tennessee whiskey brand is a popular name amongst U.S. whiskey enthusiasts at 21+, with 80% of them being familiar with that particular brand.
