E-book reading devices among consumers in the UK 2017

E-readers top the list of the most common devices amongst the UK public for reading e-books. This is according to the Statista survey on e-books in the United Kingdom 2017 which shows that almost 70% of the participants prefer this option while reading their favorite digital book.

Designed primarily for reading, e-readers are often lighter in weight and they also come at a pretty affordable price. Different companies are currently in the market of designing e-readers, but users are more familiar with Kindle (an Amazon e-bookstore) than any other brand. In fact, more than 11 million people in the UK used Kindle in 2017.

Tablets come 2nd on this list followed by smartphones and laptops. Not many people use their personal computers to scroll through an e-book as only 5% of the readers like to read a digital book via this option.
