Public perception on the future of book reading in the UK 2017

The future is electronic. More than one third of the respondents believe that most people will read electronic books a decade from now.
Other respondents believe that the space will be equally shared by print as well as digital books, and more than 60% of the readers will feel sad if the book market runs out of print books.
The most popular genre among UK readers is crime & thriller while they also like to read about romance, fantasy and history. The United Kingdom is also a favorable market for book publishers: they reported a revenue of more than 3 billion British pounds in 2017 as compared to 7.7 million euros in the German book market in the same period.
