The UK has for long been a key trading partner for Turkey, accounting for 6.1% of all imports in 2017 In terms of the textile imports the country is the second largest importer of textiles and apparel, importing products worth $2.4 billion in 2016, ahead of major markets such as Spain, Italy and the U.S. Imports of textile fibers, amounted to 23.9 million U.S. dollars in 2014.. However, Brexit related uncertainties have cast a shadow on the future of trade ties between the two countries, with the textiles, automobile and appliances markets facing the biggest risk.
