After reaching an all-time high between 2011 and 2014, namely, 18 million PC unit sales, such number decreased to 12 million in the years 2015 to 2023 and is forecast to remain stable from 2024 to 2026.
In our digitalized world, the PC industry has grown to be one of the most relevant markets worldwide, as consumers use PCs to perform a wide array of activities, from working to watching movies. In Brazil, the importance of this market is shown not only with the number of PC units sold every year, but also with the revenues generated by this market, which amounted to over ten billion U.S. dollars in 2023. Laptops are the most popular devices in the Latin American country, with their revenue forecast to increase in the coming years.
As previously mentioned, PCs have many different functionalities – reason why, in recent decades, the active base of PCs in Brazil increased and is forecast to keep growing over the next three years. In the Portuguese-speaking country, PCs seem to be used mostly for e-mailing, watching videos, and searching products in 2023. By contrast, fewer Brazilians make internet calls and search jobs on their PCs.
