When asked in 2021 what sporting goods they had purchased in the past 24 months, 69 percent of consumers in Germany indicated that they bought sports footwear, making it the most commonly purchased kind of sports item in the country. About a fifth of surveyed consumers in Germany had bought sports equipment and/or gear in the last two years.
