Share of U.S. consumers that bought sporting goods 2021, by store type
When asked in 2021 where they had purchased sporting goods in the past two years, about 40 percent of surveyed consumers in the United States indicated that they bought from an online marketplace, such as Amazon. Although online marketplaces were the most popular option, many shoppers also purchased from online and offline sporting goods stores, single brand stores, as well as grocery stores and discounters.
