British Still Divided Over Brexit
One year after a slim majority of British citizens voted to leave the European Union (51.9 to 48.1 percent) on June 23, the actual negotiations between the UK government and the European Commission have only just begun this week. The British public is still divided on the matter.
According to the Pew Research Center, a 48 to 44 percent majority think that Brexit will turn out to be a bad thing. However, there are stark differences between Conservatives, who think it’s a good thing (63 percent), and Labour and Liberals on the other side of the divide, who think it's bad for the UK (59 and 77 percent respectively).
