Emmanuel Macron's centrist La Republique En Marche had a crushing victory in the first round of the French parliamentary elections, though the landslide was marred by a record low turnout of just 48.7 percent. Earlier this year, 67.9 percent of the French electorate came out and voted in the presidential elections, as can be seen on the following infographic. How does that compare with the UK's recent election which backfired in spectacular fashion on Theresa May?
